8 Everyday Cleaning Tips
Sometimes, staying on track with your cleaning routine isn’t easy. We’ve come up with a few easy (and cheap!) tips and tricks to use around the house.
1. Make a homemade all-purpose cleaner.
This is awesome for keeping surfaces clean – but is also good for inside the refrigerator! Combine 4 tablespoons baking soda and 1-quart warm water, and use it with a sponge to wipe messes away.
2. Get rid of bad odors coming from your sink’s disposal.
Run a few lemon rinds through the disposal, let sit, then run some lukewarm water from the faucet.
3. Wipe away wall doodles!
Use a wet sponge sprinkled with bak
ing soda to get out marker, crayon, etc. from your walls – without damages!
4. Soften the fabric of your towels.
Wash them in hot water and add 1 cup of ammonia – no detergent. You’ll have fluffy towels in no time!
5. Get nasty stains out of your cutting boards.
Slice a lemon in half and rub it on the boards to remove both stains and smells. For a little extra cleaning power – sprinkle the boards with baking soda first.
6. Make your own fresh-smelling spray.
Put some orange peels into a white vinegar solution (2 parts water, 1 part vinegar) in a spray bottle.
7. Shine copper pans and kitchenware with ketchup.
Yes – we said ketchup! Put a dab on a cloth and rub your pots and pans to make them shine again.
8. Get rid of furniture knicks.
Mask the damages from scuffs and scratches on wooden tables and chairs by rubbing a walnut on them!
